Funemployment Radio™ Episode 104

Happy Friday to you all! Today we had a special guest in studio – Mr. Timber Joey, Mascot for the Portland Timbers! More on that in a minute. We kicked off the show with exciting news – Greg just landed a job on Leverage! The curse might be broken! Also, we recapped Sarah’s never-told experience in the land of VIP’s in LA, as well as places to go camping and we introduced a new sponsor to the show – Cassidy’s Restaurant! We are so excited to have them on board, check them out at www.cassidysrestaurant.com for details on their amazing Happy Hour food. I am hungry.

Timber Joey came in, and told us all about what it’s like to be the mascot for the Timbers, as well as his journey to get there and some fun stories of his favorite memories of Timbers games. Greg then went into Ball Talk with speaks of the Timbers (game tomorrow! A-yo!), Green shiney taunting men, Big Pappi vs. Jay-Z, and a really gross story about a dude vomiting on people.

Sarah had Entertainment News about Jesse James and Skelator Whore, Kiefer Sutherland being Kiefer Sutherland, and Nicolas Cage’s magical Pyramid he built. We ended the show thanking Big-Ass Sandwiches for their amazing Funemployment Radio sandwich they’ve had all week, as well as our new sponsor, Cassidy’s!

Thank you for listening, have a fun and safe weekend!

Go Timbers!

Funemployment Radio™ Episode 103

Today started on a bummer note for the Nibman because, alas, his favorite singer Peter Steele, lead singer of ‘Type O Negative, died last night. After proper mourning we then delved into our adventure that was Whiskey Wednesday, as well as the show that Sarah went to last night (and was almost not allowed into because of a crazy pot-smoking lady). Also, we discussed Battlestar Galactica (yes, I know we’re like four years behind on this) and Sarah found out who the last Cylon is... and gave her commentary.

After that Mr. Rick Emerson graced us with his presence, and we proceeded to talk about Tila Tequila and her gremlin face, Matthew McConaughey, somebody stealing his theme music, and what’s going on in his life.
Nibs had Ball Talk featuring Blazers news, as well as Big Ben’s penis, a scandal in the Bass-hunting community, Keith Hernandez, and the GREATEST THEME SONG YOU’LL EVER HEAR. Seriously. And it features one of Rick’s favorite singers of all time! Not really.

Sarah’s Entertainment News featured news of Larry King not having a pre-nup (yikes), Charlie Sheen going all Britney Spears, evil clowns that you can hire to scare your young children, and a woman that became a nymphomaniac… all because of her Wii.

Thanks for listening, and be sure to tune into Outlook Portland this weekend where Rick will be talking to Rod Englert, the man who created the field of blood-spatter analysis. Many thanks to Big-Ass Sandwiches again, and we’ll talk to you tomorrow, when we’ll have a Portland Icon in-studio with us. Bye!

Funemployment Radio™ Episode 102

Happy Whiskey Wednesday to you all! Today we kicked off the show talking about Lost, V, Glee and Tombstone, and had some scotch and storytelling about the Wild, wild west. Oh yes! We also talked about the Storm & the Balls show that is happening tonight – it should be epic… and kind of amazing. ☺

Nibs’ Ball Talk consisted of play-off chat, as well as a former NBA star being charged with kidnapping, Jerry Jones was caught badmouthing his players, and about the Portland Timbers! Ayo! Sarah’s entertainment news was all-infidelity, all-the-time, with news about Larry King, Jesse James, Elin Woods, and Charlie Sheen, as well as a crazy Tom Cruise update and the kids of Jersey Shore being bullies – and it’s pretty damn awesome.

We ended singing some Johnny Cash, and talking about Big-Ass Sandwiches – swing by to grab your ‘Funemployment Radio’ sandwich before the week is out!

Thanks for listening, and be sure to stop by the B-Side Tavern (on 6th and E. Burnside) for many beers, and tell them you heard about it from Funemployment Radio!

Funemployment Radio™ Episode 101

Today marked our 101st show (woo!), and we kicked it off by chatting about music we listen to on rainy days (more interesting than it sounds! Probably.), as well as what we did for the rest of our weekends (Sarah played softball, Greg auditioned for a movie). We also talked about TV show obsessions, and that Greg is basically an 80-year-old man trapped in a 30-somethings body.

Nibs had a new Ball Talk which was all about Big Ben and his amazing speaking skills, as well as a way-too-honest young man who talks about why his pitching skills were a bit off – it is genius. Sarah had Entertainment News about, what do you know? Jesse James! Yes, he’s the gift that keeps on giving, as well as details on a new reality show, and an update on Oprah’s sordid past – it’s pretty disturbing.

We then played a bunch of horse soundbites.

Thanks for listening, we’ll talk to you tomorrow, oh, and be sure to swing by Big-Ass Sandwiches this week for the Funemployment Radio Big-Ass Sandwich – it is incredible. Bye!

Funemployment Radio™ Episode 100

It’s our 100th episode! Woo!

Today we went on Cort and Fatboy’s show and were live for a Funemployment Radio/Cort and Fatboy super awesome mash-up episode! If you didn’t catch it this morning you can hear it at www.cortandfatboy.com - it was epic. After swinging by Big-Ass Sandwiches for our Funemployment Radio Big-Ass sandwich (Lisa & Brian – you rule!) we came to the Nibler household to record our episode!

Due to technical difficulties we had a bit of late start, but we soon got it up and running and re-capped our weekends. Aaron Duran, of www.geekinthecity.com was our special guest for the day, and he came with some homemade Cosmo’s (quite manly) to drink, as well as his drinking horn (of course).

Nibs had a new Ball Talk featuring an array of stories, including Tiger Woods talking to himself, Brandon Roy not being able to play, and his favorite Ball Talk memories from the past 100 episodes. Sarah had Entertainment News about, of course, Jesse James, Amy Winehouse and her leaky boobs (really), Jim Carey being an idiot, and she also recapped her favorite stories… including one with Miss Tila Tequila! Oh, and she released a new song today. It’s the worst thing you’ll hear all week – and yes, I’m serious.

We ended the show talking with Aaron some more, and then we sang a song near and dear to our hearts, and relevant to our show. You might hate it, but Greg and Sarah have full-blown Stockholm Syndrome about it.

We’re out, thanks for listening, and thanks for sticking with us for these 100 days we’ve been doing the podcast! We appreciate each and every one of you… and once again, THANK YOU.
