Funemployment Radio™ Episode 94

Today is the last show before our vacation! Sarah is literally getting ready to leave for the airport in a few minutes so we’re busting out this summary for you fine folks. In the first segment of the show Nibler thought it was just damn hilarious to make fun of Sarah and her fear of flying with, what do you know? A little bit of Bloodrock – DOA. Yes, it’s been quite the amazing morning for me (her). Anyway, we chatted about our vacations and what we did the day before in the beautiful sunshine (Nibs: cards and beers, Sarah: Frisbee and beers), and what Sarah’s going to be up to in LA tonight.

For Ball Talk Greg had all new balls, including Beavers baseball news, the Yankees being mooned, the TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS! (march madness bracket 2010), and of course, Big Ben. Oh, and Lifetime movies! Sarah’s entertainment news consisted of skelator whore, yet another mistress for one of the two douchey, mistress-collecting celebrities, and how the size of your penis is impacted by where you live. Really.

We ended the show tormenting each other with more sounds, as well as talking about vacation, and we sang a karaoke song that is relevant to a place where one of us is going.

Okay, so the next six shows will be our vacation shows! We put a lot of work into them so we hope you guys enjoy, and we’ll be back live-ish for you fine folks on April 5th. Be safe, have fun, and thanks, as always, for listening!

Funemployment Radio™ Episode 93

It’s the day before Vacation day, and it’s gorgeous outside! Hot dog. Today we started the show talking about our impending time-off, including fear of flying (Sarah) and how she deals with it, Mexico talk, Census filling-out, and being molested (er, screened) by airport security.

Nibs had Ball Talk where he had audio from some of the BEST HECKLING EVER, as well as March Madness news, a new Big Baby, and, of course, Ryan Leaf News. Sarah’s Entertainment News continued on with the mess that Jesse James has made of his life, Jersey Shore is branching out, and the Trolololo guy is back in the news in an interesting way.

We ended the show with an array of ways to torture each other, since we are in the throes of March Madness and have a bet going to see who’s going to be higher-ranked in the end (the winner gets to pick the ringtone for the losers phone). We decided to go through, in real-time mind you, all of the worst/best/get-stuck-in-your head songs to torment each other with, and it’s quite entertaining.

Thanks for listening, we’ll be back with an early show tomorrow!

Funemployment Radio™ Episode 92

Who ha – who ha – finally figured out that damn song! Today we chatted about our ‘vacation’ episode that we recorded last night, and good lord if it wasn’t some of the most graphic stuff ever recorded. We can’t scrub the stories out of our heads that our guests told yesterday, but let’s just say that you really have something to look forward to next week! Nibs talked about watching “The Hurt Locker” last night and made fun of Sarah’s “Calvin Johnson” dance video from yesterday, and Sarah ate pizza and dealt with a disgruntled pizza employee.

In Ball Talk, Nibs had March Madness news, a 1-in-17 million chance sports event, Blazer talk, and a crazy video that features two shots, filmed 20 years apart, that are identical – it’s pretty neat. Sarah’s Entertainment News consisted of a story about Tila Tequila (per Nibman’s request), the Skelator whore, movie news (Scream 4, anyone?), and there is, indeed, a 15th mistress.

We’re out of time for today, we’re recording our last vacation episode this afternoon so we’ve gotta jet. Enjoy the sun, we’ll talk to you tomorrow!

Funemployment Radio™ Episode 91

The words of the day are: Calvin Johnson.

Today was kind of a shitshow, Sarah was completely insane due to lack of sleep (and a crazy weekend), and Greg brought his A-game, and we have to say it’s a pretty damn good start to the week. We chatted about what we did this weekend (Greg: Kennedy School, movies, drinking beer and watching TV in his back yard, Sarah: Softball game, multiple Ted Leo shows, Calvin Johnson (seriously, watch the video), and shenanigans) and babbled incessantly for awhile. It’s more interesting than it sounds, I promise.

Nibs had Ball Talk featuring Big Ben, Dwight Howard, DUI’s, and racing, and Sarah’s Entertainment News was about Mike Tyson, Britney Murphy and her 100s of prescriptions, Jesse James being a Nazi, and vodka-soaked tampons.

We ended with a song near and dear to our (Sarah’s) hearts, and wrapped the show with more crazy. Hope you all had great weekends, we’re off to record a special vacation episode so we’ll talk at ya tomorrow!

Funemployment Radio™ Episode 90

Good Friday to you sirs and ladies. Today we chatted about March Madness (Sarah is beating the Nibman, fuck yeah!), as well as Donnie Darko, awkward situations, 80s dancing, hating Cornell, and Tears for Fears. Word. Greg had a brand new Ball Talk, where he talked about hockey players beating the crap out of each other, Blazers news, and, of course the Tournament of Champions.

We then went into Entertainment News where the highlights included: Jesse James’ crazy mistress and her downward spiral (seriously, there is some crazy shit going on here), as well as text messages from Tiger Woods to his mistress – and boy oh boy, that man has a dirty mind.

We ended the show with a tribute to Ireland, and then talked about bugs and rats, (seriously) and ended the show with a rendition of a song that we like. Unfortunately, we didn’t pre-read the lyrics so it led to kind of an uncomfortable situation (see: Michael and Maebe from Arrested Development).

Okay, we’re getting ready to record a ‘vacation’ show with a special guest so we’ve got to skedaddle, have a great weekend, all!

Funemployment Radio™ Episode 89

Today on the show we recapped our shenanigans from yesterday, including a rip-roaring time out and about drinking whiskey and seeing Irish punk rock bands – it was ‘kind of amazing’. Nibs and Sarah might not have felt the best this morning, but that means we had a great time last night! It was great to meet some of you fine folks, thanks for coming up and saying hello! Okay, enough exclamation points.

We then delved in talk of March Madness (the bracket started today, hot damn!), which led into Ball Talk. Today Nibman had more stories of love triangles and screaming Italians, as well as the new episode of South Park featuring world-class douchebag Tiger Woods! We then had to take a moment for a serious issue that Nibs was having – yes, earlier in the week Sarah had to break up with Lady Gaga – and today, it was Nibler’s turn to say goodbye to a special someone in his life (no, not Katie).

Sarah’s loosely titled “Entertainment News” consisted of the saga of Sandra Bullock and Jesse James (asshole), kids taking down a robber with vegetables, a star wars / muppet babies tv show (really), and a bunch of children accidently watching porn. We ended the show playing with the voice modulator knobs and reading lyrics in creepy voices. I feel kind of dirty.

Tomorrows Friday, woohoo!

Funemployment Radio™ Episode 88

Happy St. Patty’s day, folks! Today we started the show with the Dropkick Murphy’s (one of the raddest bands ever), and talked about our plans for tonight (we’re going to see some Irish punk rock!). We then tried to learn the Irish language and kind of failed miserably, then looked up Irish proverbs and drank a Guinness. Yes, we are Irish.

Nibs had a new Ball Talk about roidy ex-baseball players, shooting in Yakima, and rapping football players. Sarah’s entertainment news consisted of many a breaking up celebrity couple, Dio news (for really reals), and a dentist who put paper clips in his patients teeth. Oh, and there was also a brief history of Mickeys and St. Patrick’s Day thrown in to the mix. Hot dog!

We ended with speaks of Ireland and U2 (when Sarah was in Ireland she went to Bono’s night club), and then sang a horrific/amazing version of an Irish song.

Have fun tonight, and be safe! It is amateur hour so be aware that there are douchebags all around you. We love you all.

Funemployment Radio™ Episode 87

Today’s show was off to a bit of a rough start due to these two words: Free Whiskey. Yes, Nibs and Sarah went to the Jameson Bartender’s Ball last night at Kells and it. was. AWESOME! We recapped our previous nights excursions, and talked about riding the bus, loud talkers, spangers, and a new development on Chat Roulette – yes, my friends, if you are showing your dong on the internets and don’t think people know where you are at – think again.

We played some Amadan, Nibs had a new Ball Talk which included Erin Andrews news, Tiger Woods news (why won’t he just go away?), dog-sledding (slow news day) and the March Madness Bracket! We then talked about how we went about figuring out what teams to root for, and Sarah had an…. Interesting way of picking them. Let’s just say it involves John Denver and Mormons.

Sarah’s entertainment news began with an angry tirade about Lady Gaga – yes, she and Sarah have gone their separate ways. That led into a story about her, Michael Jackson has a new recording contract (really), Mike Tyson is venturing into the wild world of pigeon racing, and random FBI dudes posing as friends are looking at your Facebook page.

We ended with a listener request for karaoke, but unfortunately couldn’t find it SO if anyone has a karaoke version of “Leaving on a Jetplane” to slide our way we’d be much appreciative ☺

Have a great day, all!

Funemployment Radio™ Episode 86

Good Monday to you fine folks! Today we recapped our weekends, including Niblers adventures after our Friday show… that included a little bit of drunken Chat Roulette. Oh yes. Sarah had softball practice and continues to feel like an old person, and we both got together yesterday and put together our picks for “March Madness”!

Nibman had Ball Talk about Tiger Woods and his impending return to golf, as well as bracket news, Pooholes news (oops… Pojols), and, of course, news about Big Ben. Sarah’s entertainment news was rife with exciting news! For her, that is. In a nutshell, Meat Loaf is releasing a new album (with the worst title EVER), bone-cutting scissors attack, mouth hugs, and Titanic news!! Which lead to the most embarrassing segment we’ve ever had – for Sarah. She, for the first time, confesses the extent of her secret obsession. (Sarah here – it’s pretty epically embarrassing).

Thanks for listening folks! We’re off to drink whiskey, we’ll talk at ya tomorrow!

Funemployment Radio™ Episode 85

What better way to start the day than with… Andrew WK! Happy Friday folks, hope you’re having a good one. We recorded earlier today to make room for a special show we’re recording to air when we’re out of town! Oh, it’s going to be a good one. I digress; today on the show we talked about how amazing our listeners are (we love you all, thank you for being so rad), Sarah had a hot-dog sandwich for breakfast, Big Ass Sandwiches is making a Funemployment Radio sandwich next month (!), and Sarah had her nose pierced at a Vanilla Ice concert. Um. Yeah.

Greg talked balls, which included speaks of March Madness (sign up for our bracket today @ www.funemploymentradio.com , under the events section!), folks on horse steroids, tiger woods’ return to golf, and a fake fishing ban. Sarah’s entertainment news was much Jersey Shore (seriously, slow news day), Wizard of Oz remake(s), and Lady Gaga’s new video, which we believe to be craptacular.

Since Vanilla Ice seemed to be the thread through today’s show (we are aware it’s not 1992), we ended talking about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (go ninja go ninja go), Aaron Duran thinks that Nibler might be haunted, and we sang out first acapella karaoke song.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Funemployment Radio™ Episode 84

Today was quite literally the most bizarre show we’ve ever had – and even more bizarre? WE’RE SOBER. (one beer doesn’t count)

Sarah has turned into an old person and pulled her leg muscles walking to the Nibman’s house today, and Nibler went and saw Alice in Wonderland last night and gave his review. Sarah’s also been on a huge cleaning kick and found some wonderful goodies to bring for Greg, and we ended up using all three of them as bits on the show. Some good, some better, some awesome! Nibs had Ball Talk that including a lot of news about U of O (thanks, dudes, Oregon finally makes it to TMZ and you make us look like a bunch of idiots - good job!), and talked about our March Madness Bracket! Head to www.funemploymentradio.com and click under the EVENTS section to sign up for our free bracket! Word.

Sarah’s Entertainment News consisted of stories about Conan O’Brien (coming to Oregon!), Jersey Shore, and an Anna Nicole Smith musical. For really reals. We then discovered the voice modulators on the board and became 12-year-olds and read song lyrics with really creepy-sounding voices. It’s pretty disturbing. We ended with going through a book that Sarah came in (you’ll have to listen to find out what it is – it’s pretty hilarious) and ended with the worst karaoke song we’ve ever sung (and we’ve done some that are pretty hard to top)(that’s what she said).

Talk to you tomorrow!

So, If you’ve been under a rock all day and haven’t heard the news yes, indeed, Corey Haim did pass away. We opened the show with this rad song we found as a montage to the ‘two Coreys’, and then deviate to chats of Niblers old apartment burning down, whether or not the ‘g’ in argument is silent ( ☺), and Sarah having 11th row tickets to the Blazers game last night.

Nibs had a new Ball Talk which was about, hey, look at that, the Blazers game that Sarah went to last night! There was also more news about Big Gay Larry, Ben Rothlisberger and sorority girls, and announced that we just launched our March Madness Bracket! Head to www.funemploymentradio.com and click on Events to sign up, it’s free, and we’ll all get to bet against eachother! Hot dog.

Sarah had Entertainment News about Jersey Shore, Lindsay Lohan losing her shit about a commercial (girl is seriously insane), and the winner of Tiger Woods’ “mistresses’ beauty pageant”. She also played the new trailer for the next Twilight movie, which then led us to the GREATEST RONNIE AND SAMMI SEGMENT EVER! Wow. Capslock is annoying.

Good Thursday to you fine folks! Today Greg and Sarah started the show with Butters talk, and the weird stuff that she’s eating in the backyard. Oh yes, it is as exciting as it sounds. Also, Greg’s neighbors window looks into his bathroom, and Sarah found that out the hard way today. We then tried to find new words for our lexicon since we’ve been informed that Greg says “awesome” too much and Sarah’s always saying “epic”. We have since found replacement words. Wow, it a lot funnier than it reads ☺

Nibs had Ball Talk about Channing Frye, sexy text messages, and blasphemy, and Sarah had sh*tshow news about a woman selling bottled spirits (the dead kind, not the drinky kind), paying for crack with Monopoly money, and a lady who got into a car accident – wait for it – while shaving her vagina.

We had Brian in from the Punk Group with a world premiere of their new song called “Roy Assburn”, and it is glorious, and heard only on Funemployment Radio!

Funemployment Radio™ Episode 81

Hope you all had great weekends! Today’s show started with a recap of what we did over the weekend, which consisted of us spending hours sitting in the Nibman’s backyard after Friday’s show drinking beer and eating pizza – it was glorious. Sarah joined a softball team (they had their first practice on Saturday and she can still hardly move) and Greg spent time in the sun with his family wandering around the Lone Fir Cemetary.

Aaron Duran came in wielding, I shit you not, a sword, a drinking horn, and a copy of Joe Pesci’s alter-ego’s rap album. Oh, and a bottle of home-made meade. We love Aaron. We chatted about the history of the Lone Fir Cemetary, as well as the stories behind some of the folks that are buried there (there are some pretty messed-up stories!). Greg had Ball Talk with speaks of hurt Blazers, taunting Duke fans, Tim Tebo, and a love triangle. Awesome.

Sarah then had her post-Oscar wrap-up where we all discussed the happenings last night, including horrible dresses, an actor throwing a temper tantrum, and a drunk old white lady interrupting a dude’s acceptance speech. Yes, it was as glorious and awkward as it sounds.

Thanks for listening, we’ll be back tomorrow with special guest Brian (aka the Sex Object) from The Punk Group!

Today we spoke about Nibs getting new headshots (his last ones were atrocious), Rodney Dangerfield, sweatpants, chat roulette (of course), soft ball, malt liquor, and Tonya Harding. Really.

Nibman had Ball Talk about an athlete being molesty, someone stealing a car, and girls wrestling in cole slaw. Sarah’s Entertainment News consisted of Avatar, Tiger Woods doing what he does best (not golf; being a douchebag), and a naked woman tied to a tree.

We ended with an awesome DIO karaoke song since, of course, it’s metal Friday. Have a good weekend, guys!

Nibs had a brand-new Ball Talk where he talked about eye-gouging, cheerleaders having to be maced, and the Blazers kicking much ass last night, and Sarah’s Entertainment News included Dr. Drew having a stalker (and a super creepy one at that), a magical ‘little people’ kingdom that’s been made in China, and Johnny Depp’s lady friend does not want him anywhere near Angelina Jolie and her magical vagina.

Today we discovered the glory – that is – chatroulette.com! Yes, both Billie Starship and Bob Johnson made cameos on it, saw a few penis’ (kind of weird) and Bob made friends with a hot Swedish girl. But there was more to the show, oh yes! Today we also chatted about the douchebags on the Real World, how movies that totally spam you every five seconds when you want to watch a TV show make you NOT want to see them, and the movie Quarantine.

Nibs had Ball Talk where he talked about the Blazers getting a new player, a drunk golfer seeking revenge, and Don Cherry – if you don’t know who he is, google him – he is awesome! Sarah had Entertainment News including Michael Jackson’s kids, Naomi Campbell beating yet another human being, and a disturbing story about how most department stores repackage and sell used underwear. Fucking GROSS.

The chatroulette with Bob Johnson took up the rest of the show, and my lord, it is pretty hilarious. Let’s just say Nibs channeled his inner-hick, and made a lot of new friends all over the world.
